You take the Attack action as part of the same action used to cast this spell against a creature within reach using the weapon provided as a material component. On a hit, you can cause the target to take radiant damage, and again when a creature takes the Attack action before the start of your next turn and hits it, each time equal to your spellcasting ability modifier, plus an additional 1d8 radiant damage at level 5 (1d8), 11 (2d8), and 17 (3d8) each time.
