Choose one of the options listed in the Draconic Ancestry table. The damage type associated with the option you selected is used by features you gain at higher sorcerer levels.
In addition, you gain the following features:
You can speak, read, and write Draconic.
Your proficiency bonus is doubled for any ability check you make while interacting with dragons, provided you have proficiency in the skill.
You inherit the spells at each indicated sorcerer level in the Draconic Sorcery Spells table as sorcerer spells.
Your hit point maximum increases by 1 and increases by 1 again whenever you gain a level in this class. Moreover, your AC equals 13 + your Dexterity modifier, provided you don't have armor (or a shield) equipped.
When you cast a spell that deals damage of the type you selected in your Draconic Ancestry feature, you can add your Charisma modifier to the damage roll of that spell.
You gain resistance to the damage type associated with your Dragon Ancestor feature.
In addition, when you cast a spell that deals the same damage type, you can expend 2 sorcery points to ignore resistance to the damage type, or to treat immunity to the damage type as resistance.
While under the effects of your Surge feature, you have a flying speed equal to your walking speed.
For the duration of your Surge feature, any hostile creature that starts its turn within 60 feet of you must make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, the creature becomes your choice of charmed or frightened for the duration of your Surge feature. On a success, the creature is immune to this feature for 24 hours.
